# Documents

> Upload PDF, Word, and text files to a knowledge store.

Upload PDF, Word (DOC/DOCX), or text (TXT) files. homie extracts the text and makes it searchable.

**When to use:** the content lives in a document — a sizing chart, warranty terms, or a product manual.

**How to add:** in your [knowledge store](/en/user-guide/knowledge/knowledge-stores), open **Sources → Documents**, select **Add**, and upload one or more files. homie processes them in the background and adds the extracted content to the store.
